Outstanding Goldtop with Vintage Vibe
Just one look at this Gibson Les Paul Traditional with P-90 pickups should tell you that you’re in for a tonal treat. And while it’s hard to give a Goldtop LP with P-90s even more vintage character, we think the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece does the trick. You’ll hit your amplifier with all the rich spank and sparkle P-90s are legendary for. Factor in a fast-playing ‘60s SlimTaper neck profile, and traditional weight relief for comfort, and you’ll see why the Gibson Les Paul Traditional with P-90s has all of the Gibson fans excited.
Gibson Les Paul Traditional with P-90s at a Glance:
P-90 pickups deliver the original sound of the Les Paul When the Les Paul first came out, the P-90 was the only pickup option. And when PAF humbuckers came out (just a year after the original 1956 Les Paul), P-90s were all but reduced to “budget pickups.” Well, it only took about a decade or three for many guitar players to come back around to the good old P-90. Why? Because they sound amazing! Warm and creamy, shiny and full of life, the P-90s in this Les Paul Traditional guitar capture the very essence of the classic pre-PAF Dog Ear P-90. Roll back the tone and keep the volume in check, and you’ve got access to the liquid jazz line Les Paul himself liked to play, or open them up full throttle and tap into the slightly rude and gritty tone they have to offer. Simple as they are, these classic pickups give this Gibson Les Paul Traditional the wide range of classic tone you crave.

‘60s SlimTaper neck profile for smooth playability
This Gibson Les Paul Traditional sports a comfortable, fast-action neck with a ‘60s SlimTaper profile. Early Les Paul guitars had huge “tree-trunk” necks, but beginning in 1959, the company began slimming the neck down to a more comfortable size. By 1960, this evolved into a design Gibson called the SlimTaper neck. Varying in thickness only about a tenth of an inch from the first fret out to the twelfth and maintaining a precisely controlled width-to-thickness ratio, the SlimTaper neck promoted playing speed while reducing player fatigue. Many guitarists consider Gibson’s SlimTaper neck the most playable Les Paul neck ever made.
Extra expressiveness from the (convertible) Bigsby vibrato
Not a whammy bar, the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece on this Les Paul Traditional with P-90s give you that extra expressive option you need to make your performances shine. From slow bends to subtle flutters, you’re in for some fun. But if you decide the Bigsby isn’t for you, don’t worry: Gibson includes a stop bar and studs in the case so you can convert the Les Paul Traditional with P-90s back to its traditional form.
